Without an instrument, you can't be a musician. But whether you use your voice, play the piano, trumpet, violin, saxophone, guitar, or any other instrument, being a musician is an expression and extension of something from inside yourself. It can be a song someone else wrote that you enjoy, or something you have created yourself. So how do you start? By taking lessons.

Becoming a musician takes certain ingredients - a desire to learn, patience to keep going when it's frustrating, and a willingness to try new things. But the main ingredient is time. The purpose of lessons is to move you forward into musicianship faster and farther than you would be able on your own.

Due to changes in my work schedule, I can no longer offer lessons on a weekly basis and in general can no longer accept new students. However, please feel free to inquire, as limited or more "casual" lessons may be available at a reduced cost.

"It takes a lot of devotion and work, or maybe I should say play, because if you love it, that's what it amounts to. I haven't found any shortcuts, and I've been looking for a long time."
